Successes in April
Our spring weekends were very crowded: we visited several dog shows, and of course we were waiting for Dotti to be in heat. Our next weeks will be exciting as well, but you can read a summary about the happenings of the recent period here:
On 5th of April we travelled to Békéscsaba to a CAC dog show which was our first domestic show this year. Our car was full with dogs: we entered Alice and Mythos into junior class, Alex into open class, and Aslan joined to us too, he was the biggest supporter of his siblings. (Dotti had been in heat for a few days, so she stayed at home). We were waiting for this show particularly, because Lara came here with her family – she was registered into intermediate class -, and our friends from Pákozd, Helga and Robi also came to support us. So we had a big Lions from Fairy Tale team in this show. :) So everything was given to have a super show, we have even nice weather. Leonbergers were judged around noon by Baffia Zoltán. Leonbergers judging started with junior males where Mythos got excellent classification, and then won junior class and got HPJ title! Thereafter Alex won open class: he got excellent classification and CAC title – I would like to emphasize that Alex was working very good in the ring, it was a pleasure to show him. :) Then came the girls: Alice repeated her brother’s successes and got excellent classification and HPJ title in junior class, and Lara won intermediate class with excellent classification and CAC title. Judge didn’t give any class winner titles in other classes, so for Best of breed selection there were 4 dogs in the ring: Mythos, Alex, Alice and Lara! At first Baffia Zoltán chose Best Junior – among Alice and Mythos -: he gave this title to Mythos. And then he was hesitating between Lara and Mythos, finally Mythos got Best of Breed and Lara BOS (Best of Opposite Sex) title. Congratulations to our dogs’ results, and I would like to thank you for Mythos’s handling to Peti, Alice’s handling to my Mom! :)
Our next important event was Dotti’s mating: we were waiting excited when we could travel to Croatia. I would like to say thank you again: to dr. Fikó Fruzsina and dr. Győri Balázs vets for progesteron tests which helped us to visit Dotti’s husband, Capucino Vanika v. Bauernhof at the most suitable time; as well as to my father and brother for driving throgh three countries. :) We travelled to Jilove u Prahy on 15th of April, where mating was happened – and then we had to wait „only” for 24 days for ultrasound which confirmed Dotti’s pregnancy. Our puppies will be born in the middle of June!
On Easter weekend we travelled to a dog show again, this time to a CACIB show to Szilvásvárad. We entered Alice, Mythos and Alex, finally only our boys came with us, because Alice was in heat too. Both boys performed very well: Mythos was registered into intermediate class where he got excellent classification and CAC title, Alex won first place in open class, he also got a CAC title from judge Jorge Nallem. For CACIB selection there were three males in the ring: our boys and a champion male, and judge gave CACIB title to our Mythos! We are very-very happy because of this result, Mythos achieved this result very young, only at 15 months old – but of course we are glad of both boys. :)
CACIB Szilvásvárad dog shows were held for 3 days, on the first day Mythos and Alex represented our kennel, on the second and third day Lara (Lions from Fairy Tale Ariel, owner: Eötvös Kitti). Girls – I mean Lara and Kitti :) – achieved great results: on Sunday Lara was entered into intermediate class and won excellent1, CAC and R.CACIB titles, on Monday she got excellent1, HPJ and Best Junior titles in junior class. Congratulations, Lara and Kitti! :)
On the next weekend we travelled to a dog show again - to Kiskunfélegyháza at this time – with Lara (and of course Kitti) and Mythos who were entered into junior class. Mythos got excellent classification, HPJ and Best Junior titles, Lara got excellent classification and won second place. Congratulations to both of you, puppies! :)
We spent Mothers’ Day in a dog show as well, in Karcag now. We planned this day as „girls’s day”, because we entered Alice and Dotti – and of course we didn’t leave Mythos at home. :) Leonbergers were judged by P. Szabó Béla on this windy day. Mythos got excellent and CAC title in intermediate class, Alice excellent classification in junior class, Dotti champion CAC title in champion class! Best of breed title was awarded to Mythos again, and Dotti won Best of Opposite Sex title. :) Now dog show season has ended for Dotti for a while, with this nice result she went for maternity leave. :)
On 10th of May we travelled to Székesfehérvár CACIB dog show – with Alice and Mythos. Both of them were entered into junior class, got excellent and won second place – and both of them was working great in the ring. After the show Kerekes Mária leonberger special judge checked our puppies’ teeth and she found everything in order, so pur puppies got the first signature into their dentition card. :)
We are always very happy about nice show results, but the most important for us is our dogs’ healthy. Alex celebrated his second birthday in February, so the time of medical tests arrived for him: we took him to the vet in April and we have received his medical results since thence continually, and we have now all of them and Alex is totally healthy! He passed the following medical tests: eye test (his eyes are clear), hid dysplasia (HD A – free), elbow dysplasia (ED 0/0 – free) and LPN1 (N/N – free). He is still waiting for a breeding test, thereafter he will be a stud male officially. :)
