Our leonberger club held the yearly club show on 9th of October. We received 57 entries, so we had two judges: Uschi Eisner (from Austria) for the "adults", and Hargitai Gábor (from Hungary) for babies and puppies. As I worked as ring assistant for judge Hargitai Gábor, we entered only two of our dogs this year: Calliope and Aslan. In addition there were two more dogs from our kennel, who came with their owners: Chanel (it was the first show for her) and Balu (it was his third show). All of our dogs were great and got really nice critics. Let's check them one by one! :)

Calliope did a great job this weekend again, and she really enjoyed playing with Chanel before and after being judged. :) She got "very promising" classification and won 1st place in baby class, additonally she received a special award: as the youngest puppy of the show we received the calendar of Hungarian Leonberger Team (leonberger rescue) which is wonderful again! Finnish Leonberger Club offered a special prize to all baby and puppy class winners, so we also got a very nice "Future Hope" certificate and delicious Finnish chocolates. :)

Calliope's report: "Good size on her age, very good bones. Good sized head with good proportions. Very femminine expression. Nice muzzle, very good skull. Well set and carried ears. Properly kept neck. Very good topline. Very good ribcage. Very good loin and croup. Very good angulations. Well balanced movement. Very promising 1."

Chanel missed entry deadline, so officially she could not participate in the show but judge Hargitai Gábor agreed to judge her as well. He said very nice critics about her: all is true for Chanel which is true for Calliope, just in a smaller size. :)

Last year Balu won class winner title with excellent in intermediate class. This year he was entered into open class, and got excellent again! He won second place, got Res.CAC title, and we are very happy about it. Thank you Zsuzsa, for entering him into the show! :)

Aslan participated in hobby class, where dogs receive written critics but there are no placements. Aslan was handled by Peter, and they were great together. :) As usual we left our camera at home, so I looked for photos among other exhibitors' photos. I found only one photo where Aslan can be seen. :)

Aslan's report: "Nice head, dark eyes. Strong backline. Good angulations. Strong bones. Tail well set and carried. Nice chest. Good movement. Nice coat. Nice and friendly.
