Summary of 2013
It was an eventful year which is great to remember.
In the first months of the year our Christmas puppies were in the center of our lives. They were growing up nicely, and then all of them moved to loving families (five of them stayed in Hungary, the other four live overseas), and now - at the age of one year - they are giant-sized, impressive young leonbergers. Four puppies have started their show carreer, with nice results. But the most important: all of them are healthy. Three boys were tested for hip dysplasia at the age of six months, and their vets found everything okay. We are really glad that we get photos and stories of our puppies regularly. And I can also thank new friends to our puppies: Lara's family in Budapest; Mythos greatest fan, Helga in Pákozd; and Aldean's new mum, Barbara in Hartford, Wisconsin (USA).
Lions from Fairy Tale kennel expanded with new members in 2013: from Dotti's litter I kept two boys, Aslan and Mythos, and my parents a beautiful girl, Alice. Now - with Dotti and Alex - our kennel, our dog family has five members. :)
Of course we participated in dog shows as well, I would like to summarize our results below:
Dotti received her Hungarian Champion and Hungarian Show Champion certificates in the beginning of the year, furthermore due to her show results from 2012 she became into the most successful leonberger of Hungary (Dog of The Year of 2013, I. place). In autumn she participated in a CACIB dog show, where she won champion class (champion CAC), and also got Res.CACIB title.
Alex debuted in junior class in spring, in a CAC dog show in Croatia, with Best of Breed title. Then he won Junior Club Winner title in the club show of the Croatian Moloss Club. In spring he got Junior Champion title in three countries: in Hungary, in Croatia and in Serbia. In leonberger club show organised in Székesfehérvár - where almost 70 leonbergers were entered - he won third place at the German special judge, Rita Pleibel-Seyffer. In Jászberény CAC dog show he won third place in Junior Best in Show! His carreer in intermediate class started nicely as well: at the age of 15 months he got CACIB title in Varazdin, Croatia!
Alice reached her nicest result in World Dog Show in Budapest: she won first place in Minor Puppy class, with this result she is officially the most beautiful baby female leonberger in the world - of course my parents are very proud of her. And me too. :) In leonberger club show in Székesfehérvár she won second place at Rita Pleibel-Seyffer.
Aslan won first place in minor puppy class in club show in Székesfehérvár, so I am really proud of him. He was great in his first show as well: he won first place in minor puppy class in Jászberény CAC dog show.
Mythos participated in club show organized by Croatian Moloss Club at the age of three months, where he became Best Baby, furthermore he won third place in Baby Best in Show. Spring continued with nice results for him: he won second place in World Dog Show, and then third place in club show in Székesfehérvár.
Best Lions from Fairy Tale award: I would like to create a tradition, that's why I organized a family competition. I give this award to the most successful puppy every year. Due to her results of 2013 Lara won our first award. I would like to thank to her owners for their work, and for making our kennel name famous. :)
And what will be happen in 2014? Our "puppies", Alice and Mythos will continue their show carreer in junior class. Aslan, the most kind-hearted dog in the world, and me are going to participate in therapy course. Hopefully Alex will collect more nice results, and of course we are waiting for his second birthday in February, which also means that he will be tested for hip dysplasia and participate in breeding test. If everything happens according to our plans and hopes, Dotti will be a mom in spring again; regarding this we are going to share more details soon.
